Overview of the role Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a Maintenance, Licensed Millwright (433A) for an existing opportunity within our organization.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance, Licensed Millwright is responsible for completing repairs, routine and preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of filling machines, pasteurizing process systems, packaging systems, and conveyors common to a dairy operation. This role requires hands‑on execution that blends working on the floor directly with equipment and operators, as well as tactical time in the shop rebuilding and repairing.
Schedule Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday&Saturday– 7 am to 3:30 pm; off Sunday and Monday.
Salary
Licensed Probationary Rate (90 working days)– $44.02
Licensed Top Rate– $46.34* A seventy‑five¢ ($0.75) per hour premium for all hours worked by employees classified as maintenance is applied in addition to the base hourly rate. Additional shift premiums apply for all hours worked during premium shift times. Tool Allowance shall be paid to the maintenance employees at the rate of $830.

Responsibilities
Carry out equipment modifications and complete equipment overhauls, as required.
Complete preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production efficiencies are achieved.
Take ownership of stock room management and provide order requests of parts required for routine and preventive maintenance.
Ensure all equipment is maintained properly. Communicate with the team to ensure availability of replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtime.
Work with other trades groups to repair breakdowns, complete project assignments and provide training to plant staff as required.
Document and maintain all appropriate records including use of CMMS for downtime recording.
Follow all GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory quality and sanitation requirements.
Comply and ensure all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WSIB, and company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties, as assigned, by Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications
Must hold a 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate of Qualification
Must provide a Skilled Trades Ontario Red Seal Certification of Qualification and/or an Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement Certificate
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting and equipment repairs
Pneumatics and hydraulics knowledge required
Welding experience is an asset
Minimum 1 year of experience related to the food industry, preferably dairy, or high‑speed process equipment or packaging experience
Extensive experience with electromechanical preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of high‑speed automated packaging equipment
TIG and Arc welding experience with a strong fabricating ability is an asset
Ability to work in a highly automated environment
Ability to read and understand blueprints and manuals
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Highly motivated, results‑oriented, team player
Dependable with a good attendance and safety record
Strong written and oral communication skills in English
Ability to support all shifts (days and afternoons), incl. weekends and overtime, and/or being on call.
