Make a difference in the Nishiiyuu community as a Community Support Specialist. Engage with diverse groups, address social challenges, and utilize various intervention techniques.
This role involves assessing community needs and collaborating with social workers and other professionals. You will confront issues affecting individuals, including mental health and addiction, while facilitating Family Group Conferencing. Your expertise in community organization and development will be central to executing effective action programs.
Key Responsibilities:• Intervene with individuals facing social challenges • Respond to referrals and assess service requests • Facilitate Family Group Conferencing processes • Collaborate with social workers to create intervention plans • Conduct interviews and build helping relationships
Requirements:• Diploma in social work or related field • Knowledge of Nishiiyuu programs and Cree culture • Fluent in Cree and English; French is an asset • Willingness to undertake additional training • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
