Support community needs as a Community Worker in Eeyou Istchee. This role involves addressing social issues, conducting interviews, and collaborating with families and various organizations.
In this position, you will participate in identifying community needs and execute intervention plans effectively. The role requires proficiency in social work techniques and a strong understanding of Cree culture and social issues. Your main tasks include facilitating Family Group Conferencing and working collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for those in need.
Key Responsibilities:• Intervene with individuals facing social challenges • Conduct assessments and referrals for service requests • Facilitate Family Group Conferencing logistics • Collaborate closely with social workers and Nishiiyuu staff • Execute intervention plans as part of team efforts
Requirements:• Diploma in social work or related field • Knowledge of Nishiiyuu programs and culture • Fluent in Cree and English; French an asset • Experience with community engagement techniques • Willingness to undertake further training
