Senior Financial Analyst– Finance Operations. The Senior Financial Analyst, Finance Operations supports Aviva Canada’s financial control environment by ensuring balance‑sheet reconciliation quality, identifying financial and operational risks, and strengthening internal controls across finance, risk and audit teams.Key Responsibilities

Review and test balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and compliance. Assist in the implementation of internal control policies and procedures. Conduct regular reviews to assess internal control effectiveness. Hold walkthrough meetings with finance teams to document processes. Create narratives and flowcharts to map workflows and risk assessments.Identify financial and operational risk areas and report findings to management. Support risk‑management strategy development and special projects related to controls. Train and educate other teams on internal‑control frameworks and procedures. Prepare management reports of control findings.What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. CPA or CIA designation preferred. 3–5 years of experience as an Internal or External Auditor, Internal Controls, Operating Risk Analyst or similar role. Experience in the insurance services industry (General or Life insurance) preferable.Strong analytical, detail‑oriented skills and sound judgment. Excellent communication, presentation and leadership abilities. Proficiency in MS Office (Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and familiarity with finance software (e.g., Oracle, BlackLine). Accountability, ownership, ethics and integrity.Board‑level knowledge of finance accounting, reporting, planning, IT systems, underwriting, claims operations, reserving and IFRS17.
