The Opportunity
Shape Something Different– Join our Building/Transportation M&E team as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in our Thornhill office. In this role, you’ll contribute to electrical design for transportation and building projects, working with advanced tools and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and innovative solutions. Your Impact
Prepare electrical designs and calculations for power distribution, lighting systems, lighting control, fire alarm, and emergency power for transportation projects. Develop AutoCAD drawings and Revit 3D models for electrical systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Apply knowledge of Ontario Building Code (OBC), Electrical Safety Authority, and IEEE standards to support design integrity.Collaborate with senior engineers and discipline leads to meet project milestones and quality standards. Support project documentation, specifications, and BIM360 workflows. Contribute to design reviews and coordination meetings to ensure seamless project delivery. The Skills That Set You Apart
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; EIT registration with PEO is an asset. 2–4 years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings, transportation, healthcare, or light industrial projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit 3D; familiarity with BIM360 workflows. Understanding of electrical codes, standards, and practices, including OBC and ESA requirements.Exposure to utility coordination and authorities having jurisdiction. Familiarity with engineering study software (arc flash, load, fault, coordination, lighting, grounding) is an asset. Why Choose WSP
