About Oxford Learning Unionville Oxford Learning Unionville is a Canadian supplemental education provider helping students get better grades since 1984. It offers a full range of programs for students of all ages and abilities, using the science of cognitive learning to develop stronger learning skills.
Position Requirements All Teacher‑Tutors work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm–8:30 pm) as well as Saturdays (9:00 am–1:30 pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. Reliability is a must.
Location&Logistics This is an in‑person position located at 8601 Warden Ave., Unit 9, Unionville, ON. Applicants must be able to commute. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
Teaching certification is an asset
Good knowledge of the current Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum, especially senior math (Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus) and vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology
Experience
Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9–12 (or equivalent) level
Strong English written and oral communication skills
Strong math skills and the ability to guide students’ understanding
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details)
Teach up to 3 students at different levels
Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
Complete post‑lesson notes
Update daily student communications
Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
Role Play a key role in helping students develop self‑confidence and self‑esteem. The rewards include smiles, high‑fives, fun staff events, ongoing training, frequent check‑ins, and company growth opportunities.
Job Type Part‑time
Salary $19.50– $21.50 per hour
Schedule
Monday to Thursday evenings 4 pm – 8:30 pm
Saturday 9 am – 1:30 pm
