– 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

– $55 812 – $95 643

– Director of Finance
Nature of the Work The position of financial analyst encompasses responsibility for the preparation and analysis of the budget and financial reports, development, coordination and control of accounting systems, methods, procedures and programs pertaining to administrative organization and operations, communication structures, data processing and the rational use of school board financial resources.
Description of Tasks
Evaluate the financial needs of the school board
Gather information from school and service administrators and identify potential problem areas
Design, develop, and recommend possible solutions to problems identified
Coordinate, implement, and update government measures
Ensure compliance with deadlines set by the ministry
Plan and organize training and professional development sessions intended for administrators and support staff
Analyze financial results
Participate in the development of the budget
Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly budget monitoring reports
Carry out month‑end and year‑end financial analyses
Prepare audit files
Participate in the development and application of accounting standards and procedures and ensure compliance
May be called upon to conduct research or to provide advice on the application of budgetary rules, laws, and regulations
Provide advice to school‑based stakeholders
Provide advice and support to the management staff of services and educational institutions and plan, coordinate, distribute, and oversee the work of support staff
Qualifications Required
A bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialty, notably in accounting
Three years of relevant experience
Member of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) and experience in the public and para‑governmental sector would be an asset
Other Requirements
Fluent in French and English
Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer‑service mindset
Priority management and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to analyze and synthesize data
Have access to a vehicle to travel within the ETSB territory
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
