Your Opportunity Dillon’s Structures Transportation Discipline is seeking a Structural (Bridge) CAD Designer/Drafter to fill an existing vacancy within our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.
The successful candidate can be based at any one of our following offices: Ottawa, ON, London, ON.
We offer flexible work hours to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, scientists, and technical and administrative support staff in the development of detailed design contract packages.
Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of transportation structures.
Complete detailed design drafting for a variety of project types.
Apply 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD and other specialty programs to produce design drawings.
Prepare construction drawings and documents.
Calculate quantity take‑offs for concrete volumes, reinforcement, and miscellaneous steel for complex structures.
Assist with contract administration tasks including construction observation, shop drawing review, contractor submittal review, progress payment preparation, and responding to requests for information.
Coordinate and complete site assessments, construction observation and construction management of site documentation.
Travel to other Dillon offices for business as required.

Qualifications Education
Diploma from an accredited Architectural or Engineering Technologist Program, or equivalent.
Experience
0‑5 years of experience in the engineering consulting industry.
Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Proficient use of AutoCAD and/or Revit software (considered an asset).
Knowledge of Civil 3D (considered an asset).
Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial/industry engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements (considered an asset).
Understanding of the range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration (considered an asset).
Compensation $48,400 - $72,700
Dillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
