Senior Solutions Architect, National Security&Defence Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solutions Architect to design and deliver advanced cloud computing solutions for Canadian National Security&Defence (NSD) customers. You will be a key member of the business development and sales team and part of the larger AWS Worldwide Public Sector team, leveraging disruptive cloud technology to solve mission‑oriented problems in this vertical.

Advance the sales cycle by explaining AWS services and solutions to customers.

Advocate on behalf of customers for new features and capabilities.

A Day in the Life Solutions architects are part of the sales organization. They meet with customers to understand their business and technical challenges, crafting solutions that leverage AWS products and services. A portion of their time is dedicated to learning and experimenting with the latest technologies to ensure they can bring the best solutions forward.

About the Team The National Security and Defence Solutions Architecture team is mission focused. Team members use their former military experience and knowledge of IT systems to solve problems that impact the Canadian Armed Forces and the broader Defence Industrial Base.

Basic Qualifications

10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries.

5+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data&analytics).

3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.

3+ years of professional or military experience.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.

Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers.

Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.

Compensation and Benefits The base salary range for this position is CAD 146,000.00– 211,600.00 annually. As a total compensation company, Amazon’s package may include other elements such as sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
