Mechanical Design Engineer at Tesla, Langley

Join Tesla's innovative team as a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on high-performance motors. You'll collaborate on the design, manufacturing, and scaling of electric motors for powertrains.

In this role, you will support the mechanical design and industrialization of motor stators. Working with a team of electrical and electromagnetic engineers, you will develop bespoke motors and continuously improve existing designs. Prototyping, testing, and collaborating with supply chain partners are key responsibilities of this position.

Key Responsibilities:• Design and industrialize stators for Tesla powertrains • Collaborate with motor and actuator engineers on custom designs • Improve performance and reliability of existing motor designs • Prototype, test, and troubleshoot electric motors • Support pilot production assembly and qualityassurance

Requirements:• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • 1+ years in mechanical engineering, especially in motors • Experience with motor design and manufacturing processes • Hands-on experience in a machine shop environment • Familiarity with engineering tools like Solidworks
