Position Overview

We are looking for a sharp, organized AutoCAD Drafter&Administrative Assistant to join our millwork team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between the design phase and the front office. You’ll spend your time creating precise shop drawings for custom cabinetry and architectural millwork, while also keeping our project documentation and office operations on track.Key Responsibilities

Millwork Drafting&Design

Generate detailed 2D shop drawings for custom millwork, cabinetry, and wood fixtures. Develop comprehensive sections, elevations, and plan views with accurate dimensions. Incorporate hardware specifications and material callouts (veneers, laminates, solid woods) into drawings. Revise drawings based on architect feedback, site measurements, or production requirements.Prepare "cut lists" and assembly drawings for the shop floor. Administrative&Project Coordination

Manage the Submittal Process, ensuring all drawings and finish samples are sent to clients for approval. Maintain organized project folders, tracking revisions and version control for all sets. Assist in material procurement by sourcing specific hardware or lumber based on project needs. Handle general office tasks: answering client inquiries, scheduling site measurements, and updating project timelines.Support the estimating team by organizing bid documents and digital blueprints. Qualifications&Skills

AutoCAD Mastery: High proficiency in 2D AutoCAD is required. Experience with millwork-specific software (like Cabinet Vision or Microvellum) is a significant plus. Millwork Knowledge: A solid understanding of wood construction, joinery techniques, and cabinetry hardware. Technical Reading: Ability to interpret architectural blueprints and interior design specifications.Administrative Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for tracking and lists) and general office software. Precision-Oriented: An eagle eye for detail—you understand that a $1/16" error in a drawing can lead to a major headache in the shop. Adaptability: Comfortable shifting from technical drafting to administrative multitasking as project loads fluctuate.Education&Experience

2+ years of experience in drafting, preferably within the millwork, furniture, or construction industry. Previous experience in an office administration or project coordination role. Degree or Certification in Drafting, Architecture, or Woodworking Technology preferred. Job Types
