Description
Become a Langley Special Education Summer Assistant at The Salvation Army. This role supports campers through engaging activities in a full-time day camp setting.
Funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program, you must be 15-30 years old to qualify. In collaboration with staff at the Willows Family Life Centre, you will promote holistic approaches to child care, focusing on building relationships and ensuring inclusivity for neurodivergent children. Your contribution is pivotal in fostering a supportive camp environment.
Key Responsibilities:• Support campers in adapting to camp programming • Work alongside staff to resolve campers' behavioral issues • Aid in planning and executing summer enrichment activities • Participate in and promote local recreational programs • Uphold health and safety in all activities
Requirements:• Aged 15-30 and eligible for Canada Summer Jobs • Some high school education completed • First Aid certification or intent to obtain • Experience with children and knowledge of developmental needs • Consent required for criminal background checks
