Become a vital part of the YMCA of Three Rivers as a Full-Time Newcomer Day Camp Counselor. Engage with youth, provide mentorship, and facilitate culturally relevant activities in Kitchener, ON.
The YMCA of Three Rivers is seeking passionate individuals for its Newcomer Summer Camp. This full-time position focuses on supporting newcomer children and youth aged 6-18 through leadership and mentoring. You will actively engage with campers, maintaining a safe, encouraging, and positive environment, while participating in all programming and activities offered.
Key Responsibilities:• Lead and supervise campers at all times • Mentor newcomers to develop life skills • Engage campers actively in all activities • Provide quality, culturally relevant programming • Address camper concerns positively and professionally
Requirements:• Experience with newcomer children and youth • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and in a team • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion • Must be aged 15 to 30 and legally entitled to work in Canada
