Maintenance Electrician– Operations: Maintenance DEP – Afternoon Shift (PM) Rate Group:
$46.00 per hour
with available overtime options.
Shift premium:
$1.25
paid on scheduled shifts that start after 1pm.
Job Purpose The Maintenance Electrician will maintain all equipment to required plant standards and be responsive to line calls, and equipment failures. They will also routinely perform work independently and must be able to work in an environment with many distractions while maintaining a high level of accuracy in performing their duties.

Key Job Functions / Responsibilities
Support the afternoon shift. Hours of work are from 3:00 PM– 11:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
Provide support in troubleshooting / repairs and system improvements (optimization) to ensure quality and efficiency.
Establish and follow up project implementation, including timing, concept, feasibility design, specifications, construction and commissioning, as required.
Support in testing, repairing, calibrating electric or electronic components.
Maintain and upgrade PLC software; assist in training Team Members on electric equipment as required.
Analyze, record, chart and all documentation required for maintenance records, projects and departments.
Prepare drawing material specifications to requisitions required by vendors or other departments.
Develop control drawings and design concepts.
Deal with various vendors, both supplier and equipment suppliers.
Respond to all maintenance requirements within the department.
Participate in ongoing cross-training, multi-skilling activities within the organization.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency in achieving results.
Ensure that all operator safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations.
Know and understand process documentation and customer specific requirements, as they relate to this job function.
Follow and comply with all Operational Procedures and Policies.
Adhere to Conestoga Meat's core values.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Ontario Certificate of Qualification in Electrical or an equivalent diploma/degree in electrical controls, as required.
Certificate of Apprenticeship or possess a recognized equivalent (testing may be required).
Proof of CSA Z462 Arc Flash Certification training required.
Minimum of two (2) years demonstrated and verifiable experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Working Knowledge (oral/written) of both English and Mathematics.
Working knowledge of Safety Standards of Equipment.
PLC Programming and troubleshooting experience; Allen Bradley.
Ability to work in various locations within and outside the plant.
Good attention to detail, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work to deadlines and multiple demands.
Ability to uphold confidentiality.
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs.
Ability to work independently and without supervision.
Work Conditions Required to work in a multi-disciplinary and fast-paced work environment where Safety, Quality, People and productivity are the focus of all organizational objectives.
Transportation Candidates will need to find their own transportation. No public transportation available.
