Description Job Title: Personal Support Worker (PSW) Location: Kingston, ON Schedule: Casual (with flexible shifts) Hourly Rate of Pay: $19.50 - $23.50

Carecor is looking for dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers to join our amazing team working in Transitional Care Units in Kingston, ON and the surrounding areas. We’re ready when you are!

Under the direction of facility nursing staff, you will perform floor and observational care duties - helping to create an environment that promotes optimal physical, social, and emotional well-being for patients. For each assignment, you will be in one facility for a full 8-12hour shift. This is a Casual position with flexible shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide personal care service according to directions on the established care plan or assignment sheet, and ensure that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent.

Provide personal care that is within the provincial scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker; duties may include skin care, hair care, mouth care, bathing, bowel and bladder care, positioning and movement, exercise, basic wound care, feeding including special diets, and assistance with oxygen administration and medication reminder.

Perform specialized, client specific procedures for which recognized training and current competency can be demonstrated.

Observe and document client conditions according to company standards; report unusual events or changes in the client’s condition to the immediate Supervisor or to the Office.

Understands and implements infection prevention practices.

Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.

Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.

Participates in proactive Health&Safety activities while performing all duties and is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health&Safety risks or concerns.

Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.

Complete other tasks as requested.

Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from an Ontario Community College Program.

OR private career college in Ontario that is registered with and approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities with successful completion of the final examination administered by the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC).

OR an approved Ontario Board of Education PSW Program

Must have clinical and/or working experience as a PSW within the past two (2) years, preferably in LTC/TCU departments.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and N95 Mast Fit Test Certificate.

Proof of current immunization for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (MMRV), Hepatitis B, Tdap, and COVID-19.

Proof of negative TB skin test within the past (1) year or negative chest x-ray within the past 5 years.

Willing to undergo Vulnerable Sector Police Check as a condition of hire.

Please note that based on recent government mandates and directives, healthcare workers are now required to provide proof of full COVID-19 Vaccination. If successful, new hires will be required to provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date.
