Mechanical Designer / CET / Engineer Kelowna, BC
Full-Time | In-Office
Building Design– HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Systems
Salary: $80k-90k+ (Based on experience)
About the Opportunity We’re working with a growing and respected consulting firm specializing in mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and residential buildings. With a strong pipeline of projects and a collaborative team environment, they’re expanding their presence in Kelowna and looking to bring on a talented Mechanical Designer, Engineer, or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET).
The Role This position is ideal for someone with 5+ years of experience in mechanical design within the building consultancy space who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting. You’ll play a key role in leading mechanical design efforts, engaging directly with clients, and supporting projects from concept through construction.
What You’ll Do
Lead and execute the design of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) for a range of building types
Collaborate with architects, clients, and consultants to deliver coordinated and code‑compliant designs
Prepare mechanical layouts and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD
Conduct site visits, assessments, and provide construction‑phase support
Manage your own project timelines and maintain proactive communication with clients
Contribute to a supportive, forward‑thinking team culture
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design
CET or P.Eng. designation (or eligibility for registration in BC)
Strong understanding of local codes, ASHRAE guidelines, and mechanical standards
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
Excellent communication skills and a strong client service orientation
Ability to work independently, manage project responsibilities, and take initiative
