The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides: Nursing care to psychiatric patients, both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence‑based practice in nursing practiceMaintains and advances own clinical competence Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned RPNs/RNs on the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit work in conjunction with other interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and community mental health providers.We provide an acute psychiatric unit that offers care to individuals across the full spectrum of mental health conditions, including early psychosis, general psychiatric disorders, addictions, and geriatric cases. The program includes individual psychotherapy, ECT, psychopharmacology, psycho‑educational programs, group therapy, occupational therapy, recreational activities, family assessments, and behavior therapy, tailored to meet each patient's individual needs.Employment Details

This is a Permanent Part Time (0.77 FTE) opportunity. Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:30 to 19:30, and from 19:30 to 07:30. Qualifications

Graduation from an approved school of nursing and two years’ recent related experience in a mental health and addictions environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
