Description
The Crushing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the crushing operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and performance standards are met. This role requires strong leadership, a commitment to safety, and a focus on continuous improvement. The Crushing Supervisor will lead by example, hold the team accountable, and drive operational excellence through effective decision‑making, coaching, and communication.
Main Accountabilities
Lead by example in following all safety procedures and using required PPE.
Proactively challenge unsafe actions and behaviors, taking swift action to ensure safety.
Set clear safety expectations and hold the team accountable, addressing non‑compliance promptly.
Conduct routine inspections and hazard assessments to ensure proper risk management.
Provide coaching and feedback to promote safe behaviors and practices.
Document safety‑related incidents and corrective actions in a timely and accurate manner.
Communicate effectively with clarity, timeliness, and professionalism.
Treat all team members with fairness, respect, and dignity.
Foster an inclusive and supportive work environment where employees feel valued.
Address and resolve issues proactively to prevent escalation, ensuring team members feel supported.
Enforce company policies and expectations regarding unacceptable behavior.
Use data‑driven insights to guide decision‑making and prioritize actions.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.
Clearly communicate operational goals and the team’s role in achieving them.
Set performance targets and provide the resources and support needed to meet them.
Address performance issues promptly through coaching and feedback, with escalation when necessary.
Recognize and reward strong performance that contributes to operational success.
Main Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a mobile or stationary crushing facility.
Open‑pit mining experience is an asset.
Experience working in a multi‑cultural environment.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team‑building skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
In‑depth knowledge of safety procedures, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Data‑driven, with strong decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to manage and improve performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
Other duties as required.
