We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative leader to join our team in this current vacancy as Field Supervisor - Operations (Parks, Arenas&Community Spaces)! In this role you will be responsible for the supervision and activities of the Parks&Community Spaces team, as well as:

Providing superior leadership

through coaching, mentoring, change management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Coordinating the activities of team members

toward a unified objective, ensuring that resources (tools, staff, equipment, safety/materials, and training) are available to the team.

Supervising service area staff

including participating on hiring committees, staff training, development, performance management/review, health and safety, collective agreement administration, discipline, and grievance response.

Coordinating and assigning staff duties and responsibilities , delegating tasks to staff to be completed on a daily basis delivered in a safe and operationally efficient manner; visiting work sites to connect with staff, updating work assignments to ensure staff are working in a health and safety-minded manner.

Proactively ensuring that all aspects of Health and Safety

are being actively addressed,

monitored and complied with as required by Town Policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Responding to emergencies , such as floods, power outages, storms, snow/ice, facility alarms and evacuation etc. and assists with emergency response as required.

The preferred candidate holds:

Post‑secondary diploma or degree in a related field (e.g., Landscape Technology / Construction or Environmental Horticulture and Urban Forestry or suitable equivalent).

Minimum 5 years’ experience in municipal operations (Parks, Arenas), including at least 3 years in a supervisory role (preferably in a unionized environment).

Arena‑related training (e.g., ORFA Ice Facility Operator / Certified Ice Technician (CIT)/ arena operations) is an asset, as is parks‑related training (e.g., Landscape Pesticide Exterminators License, Membership in Ontario Parks Association (OPA) or Sports Turf Canada or suitable equivalent).

Valid Ontario driver’s licence; DZ licence is preferred. As a condition of employment, you will be required to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract.

Standard First Aid/CPR and WHMIS training (or ability to obtain).

Demonstrated experience supervising staff, setting priorities, and delivering front‑line operational services with a strong safety focus.

Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events; and to respond to major emergencies as required.

The salary range for this position is $84,283 - $107,571 per annum (Based on a 35‑hour week) and the successful candidate will be compensated within this range.
