Delivery Driver, Stoney Creek

Franklin Empire Inc. supplies electrical components for new construction, renovation and maintenance of industrial plants, residences, and commercial buildings. We provide OEM and MRO solutions (maintenance, repair, and operation), lighting design, inventory management, training, automation expertise, and specialized services.

We are presently in search of a Warehouse Clerk for our Hamilton branch.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Canadian driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (Class 1 or Class 3 preferred).

Proven experience in driving box trucks and/or tractor trailers.

Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems.

Physical capability to lift and carry heavy weights safely and stand for extended periods.

Reliable personal transportation to and from the work location.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working in a fast-paced delivery or logistics environment.

Certification in workplace safety or defensive driving courses.

Familiarity with Canadian transportation regulations and compliance standards.

Strong teamwork skills demonstrated through prior collaborative work experience.

Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Plan and follow efficient delivery routes using maps and GPS technology to ensure timely deliveries.

Load, unload, and transport goods safely, handling heavy items with care to prevent damage or injury.

Operate box trucks and tractor trailers in compliance with all traffic laws and company safety standards.

Communicate effectively with dispatchers, team members, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues.

Maintain accurate delivery records, including proof of delivery and vehicle inspection reports.

Skills The required skills such as reading maps and route delivery are essential for planning and executing efficient delivery schedules, ensuring timely arrival at each destination. Physical skills like lifting heavy weights and standing for long periods are critical for handling cargo safely and maintaining endurance throughout the workday.
