As part of an inter-professional team, the PTA works effectively to provide optimal physiotherapy care and to assist the patient in achieving their physiotherapy goals. The PTA motivates and encourages the patient to meet their expected outcomes by contributing to the valuation, implementation and ongoing modification of the patient's physiotherapy program and by participating in the provision of holistic and comprehensive physiotherapy care. PTAs can complete standardized outcome measures as part of the physiotherapist's assessment and implement assigned physiotherapy treatment plans, in alignment with national and provincial physiotherapy standards.
