Accountant with ACSS in Finance, Halifax Bedford Basin

Join Atlantic Community Shelters Society as an Accountant, providing essential support to the Finance team. Handle accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and financial documentation.

This role requires a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, where you will focus on maintaining accurate financial records and assist in month-end and year-end closing processes. You'll process bi-weekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy while upholding confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities:• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions • Maintain vendor invoices and prepare payments for approval • Record general ledger entries and organize financial documentation • Assist with bank reconciliations and closing activities • Support payroll processing and maintain payroll records

Requirements:• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field • 2+ years relevant accounting experience • Understanding of bookkeeping principles • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
