Production Operator, Grimsby

Job Description This position is an essential part of Sherwin’s manufacturing team. The role involves setting up, running, and maintaining manufacturing equipment to produce powder coating products consistent with customer requirements. The employee performs various manufacturing tasks as assigned and is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and productive working environment.

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Shift: Rotating 3 shifts, 8 hrs (7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, 11:00pm-7:00am).

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, monitor, operate, and clean automatic and semi-automatic equipment in an efficient and safe manner.

Perform assigned manufacturing tasks.

Monitor raw materials and finished goods for quality.

Comply with policies and standard operating procedures.

Keep equipment logs, perform minor repairs, and report breakdowns in a timely manner.

Maintain production records and reporting as required.

Collaborate with other departments to complete production orders on time.

Safely operate forklift truck, pallet jacks, and other equipment or machinery.

Monitor and replenish inventory of parts and supplies.

Provide technical support and training to other team members.

Contribute ideas to improve or optimize manufacturing procedures.

Keep tools, equipment, and the work environment clean and organized daily.

Qualifications

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

At least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility.

At least one (1) year of experience monitoring gauges, dials, or other machinery indicators to ensure proper operation of machinery.

At least one (1) year of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.

At least one (1) year of experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods.

At least one (1) year of experience operating packaging equipment such as robotics, filling machines, case packers, or labelers.

At least one (1) year of experience using material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, drum dollies, conveyor belts).

At least one (1) year of experience mixing or blending raw materials and making a product in an industrial batch process.

Work Hours Rotating 3 shifts, 8 hrs: 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, 11:00pm-7:00am.
