Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME)– Apprentice
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Sudbury, ON
Salary: $24.00 - $32.00/hour
When wildfires threaten communities, forests, and critical infrastructure, aircraft become the front line of defense. Behind every safe takeoff, every successful operation, and every return at the end of a long day is maintenance done right by a team of exceptional AMEs and Apprentices! Our AMEs and Apprentices are an integral part of the organization’s success and are the reason for ensuring the aircraft is safe to fly and operating optimally. This job entails assessing and handling repairs, performing regular inspections, and updating aircraft as needed.
Your Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a licensed AME, maintain the aircraft in accordance with applicable airworthiness standards and OEM instructions.
Carry out maintenance, repair and daily inspection of the company aircrafts as detailed in the company Maintenance Policy Manual.
Follow company procedures as per the Maintenance Policy Manual using safe work practices.
Conduct both heavy and line maintenance on aircraft.
Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals in a high-performance culture.
Stay abreast of industry standards and contribute to continuous improvement.
Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of basic hand tools.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
High attention to detail.
Mechanical aptitude, trainable.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Physically able to perform all duties of an AME apprentice.
Professional and eager to learn, with a positive work attitude.
Education
Currently enrolled or graduated from a Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance course, OR
College Grad or high school diploma (or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent) with willingness to enroll in an AME apprentice program.
