Electrical Engineer, Mining Locations:
St. Johns, NL; Brampton, Sudbury; North Bay, ON

Responsibilities
PLC, power, automation, and instrumentation mining experience required.
Responsible for meeting the firm’s engineering quality levels of discipline on assigned projects.
Oversee development of design concepts by designers and ensure proper application and execution.
Verify designer’s work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
Apply EXP’s risk‑management practices of electrical engineering.
Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of discipline engineering.
Encourage collaboration to seek the best solutions.
Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.
Perform front‑end loading of electrical systems for projects.
Contribute to revisions of EXP’s design standards and master specifications.
Evaluate value‑engineering items with respect to our level of risk.
Edit and develop the basis of design narratives documenting the project scope.
Develop electrical one‑lines, load lists, area classifications, etc.
Participate in HAZOP, PHA, safety reviews.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) within the province is mandatory.
At least 6 years of experience in the mining or industrial industry.
Salary:
$90,000– $119,000 (actual compensation is based on skill set, experience, certifications, and location).
