An established and globally recognised engineering equipment OEM is seeking an experienced Proposals Manager to support the continued growth of its North American Capital Sales operations. This role will lead the end-to-end proposals function for capital equipment opportunities across the mining and bulk material handling sectors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, commercially aligned, and technically compliant submissions.As the central lead for proposal strategy and execution, you will oversee the full bid and tender lifecycle— coordinating technical, commercial, estimating, procurement, and engineering inputs to deliver compelling proposals to clients across North America. In addition to managing the proposals function, this role will play an important part in helping establish and grow the North American proposals capability over time, including mentoring and building a small local team as the business expands.With a long-standing global presence and a strong reputation for delivering engineered solutions into the mining and bulk materials handling industries, the business offers the opportunity to work on technically complex and high-value projects across international markets. This is a senior, client-facing position responsible for driving proposal excellence across North American opportunities. The successful candidate will combine strong technical capability with commercial awareness, leadership, and a structured approach to managing complex proposal activities. Responsibilities
Lead and manage the end-to-end proposal and tender process for North American capital equipment opportunities; Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs across engineering, estimating, procurement, commercial, and operations teams to deliver high-quality submissions; Interpret client specifications, EPC/EPCM documentation, and tender requirements to ensure technical and commercial compliance;Oversee equipment selection, technical sizing, proposal strategy, and submission development for bulk material handling systems; Review and localise engineering documentation including P&IDs, specifications, standards, and climatic design considerations for North American applications; Manage technical clarifications, deviations, risk reviews, and compliance documentation throughout the proposal lifecycle; Lead bid review meetings, client clarification sessions, and internal proposal governance processes;Work closely with estimating and procurement teams to develop accurate cost models and commercial pricing strategies; Review and validate subcontractor and vendor quotations for inclusion within formal proposals; Drive proposal scheduling, prioritisation, reporting, and internal communication across multiple concurrent opportunities;Act as the primary interface between North American operations and Australian-based engineering and product teams; Identify opportunities to improve proposal systems, processes, and submission quality across the business; Support the growth and development of the North American proposals capability, including mentoring and building a future local team as operations expand.Qualifications
8–15 years’ experience in proposals, bid management, applications engineering, or project engineering within mining, minerals processing, or bulk material handling industries; Bilingual English/French language capability is advantageous. Demonstrated experience leading complex technical tendersubmissions and RFQ processes;Strong understanding of capital equipment, mechanical/process systems, and engineering documentation including P&IDs; Experience working with EPC/EPCM contractors, OEMs, and mining clients across North America; Commercially astute with strong understanding of costing, pricing structures, and proposal risk management; Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline;Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability; Excellent technical writing, communication, and organisational skills; Ability to manage multiple high-value proposal timelines simultaneously; Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a growing business environment; Experience mentoring or developing junior team members is highly regarded;Why Join?
