The Taylor District YMCA is hiring a part-time Lifeguard and Swim Instructor in Fort St John, BC. Support community aquatics and ensure a safe environment for all patrons.
This temporary position offers flexible hours ranging from 4 to 24 per week, from May 27th, 2026, to August 29th, 2026. Candidates with a strong customer service background and lifeguard certifications are encouraged to apply. Engage in active pool monitoring and event facilitation in this rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities:• Apply lifesaving techniques and first aid as necessary • Monitor pool environment and enforce safety policies • Support and lead community-focused aquatics programming • Handle transactions for swim passes and events • Maintain a clean and welcoming facility
Requirements:• Current Standard First Aid certificate • National Lifeguard - Pool Option required • Lifeguard or Swim Instructor experience preferred • Reliable transportation to the location • Provide a current Criminal Reference Check
