Join School District No. 60 as a temporary ELL Support Teacher from September 2026 to June 2027, focusing on language acquisition for ELL students. Engage in an impactful role fostering learning in both urban and rural schools.
In this position, you will be responsible for language assessments aligned with district practices and the Ministry of Education. You will work alongside fellow educators, providing direct support and developing comprehensive learning plans tailored to ELL students’ needs across various schools.
Key Responsibilities:• Assist in designing and implementing language plans • Facilitate professional development workshops for staff • Deliver direct teaching and co-teaching in schools • Travel across all district schools including rural areas • Participate in in-services focusing on student learning
Requirements:• BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate required • Experience working with complex needs students • Willingness to obtain Level B assessment certification • Proven communication and computer skills • Background in balanced literacy and ELL methods
