Job Description

Operating an ambulance or other emergency vehicles.

Responding to calls for help and radio transmissions.

Assessing patients and making preliminary diagnoses on the scene.

Providing emergency medical care, including medication administration, pain relief, intravenous infusions, and wound/injury dressing.

When necessary, specialized equipment such as ventilators and defibrillators are used.

Patients are transported to the emergency departments of healthcare facilities such as hospitals.

Patients are monitored and cared for while in transit.

Communicating with hospital personnel to provide patient information such as medical condition and treatment plan.

Accurately writing and submitting incident and patient reports.

Cleaning and maintaining medical equipment in the ambulance/emergency vehicle.

Requirements

Diploma or bachelor's degree in paramedical science is required.

NREMT certification is required, as is registration with the relevant Health Professions Council.

Current driver's license.

Knowledge of medical procedures, terminology, and medications used onsite.

Working knowledge of medical equipment and devices.

Capable of working erratic hours, including weekends and national holidays.

Excellent fitness, stamina, vision, and physical agility.

Excellent navigation and driving abilities.

Terms of Employment:

Permanent Position

72 to 80 hours bi-weekly

Shifting Schedule, On call

Required Years of Experience:

1 to 3 years

Salary:

$30.61 - $40.43 per hour
