Facility Operator, Dawson Creek

Your Opportunity at SECURE A Facility Operator is responsible for the day-to-day safe and customer service-oriented operations of waste treatment, oil treatment and water injection. Operators assist with standard operating procedures, hazard assessments, safety programs and environmental protection while maintaining constant communication with customers.

Work Environment This position is located at the Dawson Creek Full-Service Terminal and requires a 12‑hour shift with a rotating 7 on / 7 off schedule.

Responsibilities

Oversee day‑to‑day facility operations.

Unload trucks, manage oil emulsion and water&vacuum truck operations.

Participate in waste processing, mud tank operation, shaker and centrifuge operations, and solids treatment.

Handle receipt, terminal storage and transportation of crude oil, ensuring compliance with Measurement&Crude Oil Quality standards.

Conduct solids treatment on the waste pad.

Operate and inspect the glycol boiler.

Submit truck ticket summaries, daily plant checklists, balances, and transfers to the office.

Participate in the Health&Safety Management System (HSMS).

Ensure solids processing meets or exceeds landfill criteria and solids testing standards.

Perform general maintenance to keep the plant clean and safe.

Skills, Experience&Qualifications

High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent.

Experience with waste processing, oil treatment, or water injection is an asset but not required.

Training in boilers, treaters, pumps, repairs, shaker/centrifuge, and loader is an asset.

Current and valid safety tickets, including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS and TDG.

Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding environment.

Ability to document work, manage cross‑shift communication, and maintain clear communication with the team.

Ability to multi‑task and make excellent decisions while troubleshooting issues.

Excellent customer service skills and safe work practices.

Valid driver’s licence and successful completion of pre‑employment testing.
