Become a Community Health Worker, Fort Nelson

Pursue your passion for health care through the Community Health Worker program with Northern Health, facilitating your training for certification with a paid stipend.

This program spans approximately 10.5 months, allowing you to earn a stipend of $24.80 per hour while completing your Health Care Assistant certification. Classes will be held full-time and may encompass both online and in-person sessions. Successful participants will transition into a Community Health Worker role, engaging in vital home support services while adhering to a Return of Service agreement.

Key Responsibilities:• Enroll in and complete Health Care Assistant program • Participate actively in all course sessions • Register with the BC Care Aide/Community Health Worker Registry • Commit to the Return of Service requirements • Maintain proper licensing and certifications throughout

Requirements:• Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residency status • Possession of a Class 5 BC Drivers License • Completion of a Criminal Record Check • Possibly pass an English proficiency exam • No prior experience in the HCA role in BC
