Job Summary
The IT System Administrators role is to ensure the stability integrity and efficient operation of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure that supports our organization. This involves actively monitoring maintaining and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The IT Systems Administrator will leverage proven communication analytical and problem-solving skills to identify communicate and resolve issues maximizing the benefits of our IT infrastructure.Job Requirements
Due to the nature of this role the job requires regular full time on-site attendance at our Edmonton Corporate office On-call duties to support in emergency situations Responsibilities
Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and associated processes; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems Design and deploy new systems applications and/or enhancements to existing applications software and operating systems Conduct research on software and systems products as requiredCollaborate with the other IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes Resolving Hosted services issues and taking ownership of cross-functional problems ensuring compliance with SLAs Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration mapping processes and service recordsEvaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problem occurrences Manage network servers appliances and technology tools. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements. Ensure security through appropriate access controls backups and firewallsDevelop expertise to train staff on new technologies. Contribute to the planning and implementation of multiple projects. Qualifications
Knowledge&Experience
Active Directory (Site Topology DNS AD Design Skills) Consolidation of Active Directory Forests and domains Windows Infrastructure and Domain Administration: DNS DHCP Account Management Group Policy VMware VCenter&ESXi (UCS experience is also considered an asset) AIX 7 Windows Server 2012 and above RHEL Oracle Linux 9 SQL Server Active Directory ADaudit BIND CUPS Load Balancer solutions ie. F5 Azure Load Balancer Cloud services such as Azure IBM Cloud Storage solutions such as NetApp IBM Storewize Scripting (powershell bash ksh etc)Personal Attributes
Excellent written oral and interpersonal communication skills Good project management skills Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detailProven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
