Description
Altea West Edmonton Edmonton, AB T5S, CAN
Description We're accepting applications now and will begin active recruitment in September/October 2026.
Altea is Canada’s premier fitness and wellness destination. Multiple boutique studios, modern recovery, and lifestyle amenities, all under one roof, for one membership. We bring together the quality of a standalone boutique with the breadth of afull serviceclub, and we deliver an experience that members build their week around. We are the membership membersactually use. Everything we do is designed to deliver a premium member experience.
We are looking for a Pickleball Coach and Facilitator who loves the game and loves people equally. Someone who can run a structured clinic with confidence and turn an open play session into something that feels welcoming to a first-timer and energizing for a regular. This is a volunteer role, compensated with a complimentary Altea membership.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead Structured Clinics.
Design and deliver skill-based programming for players at all levels. Beginners feel supported. Experienced players feel challenged. Everyone leaves better than they arrived.
Facilitate Open Play.
Run organized, well-paced sessions where court rotation is managed fairly, the atmosphere is positive, and every participant feels like they belong.
Build the Community.
Pickleball at Altea is as much about connection as competition. You help create an environment where members come back for the people, not just the game.
Represent the Standard.
Your professionalism, your preparation, and your care for participants reflects the club in every session you run.
WHO YOU ARE You do not need to be a touring pro. You need to genuinely love pickleball and be the kind of person who makes everyone on the court feel welcome.
You are patient and encouraging. You meet players where they are.
You show up prepared. Your sessions have structure and your courts are set up before the first player arrives.
You are community-minded. You introduce people, remember names, and build the kind of atmosphere that makes the court feel like a destination.
You are proud of where you play. How you carry yourself on and off the court reflects Altea.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Demonstrated pickleball experience playing, coaching, or facilitating at any level
Comfortable leading groups of mixed abilities in both clinic and open play formats
Warm, clear communicator who creates an inclusive environment
Pickleball Canada certification or equivalent is an asset but not required
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C, maintained annually
Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement
WHAT YOU'LL EARN This is a volunteer position. In recognition of your contribution to the Altea community, you will receive a complimentary individual Altea membership for the duration of your active volunteer commitment.
We are an equal opportunity employer and believe in treating everyone fairly regardless of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, national origin, language, citizenship, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, gender identity, gender expression, record of offences, disability, or any other legally protected factors. Accommodations are available upon request.
