Position Title: Coordinator, Accessible Technology Programs&SmartLife Coach
Full Time, Contract
Reports To: CNIB SmartLife Manager
I. Job Purpose and Scope CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you! We are currently searching for a Coordinator, Accessible Technology Programs&SmartLife Coach. The successful candidate will play a key role in changing the lives of Canadians who are blind or partially sighted by improving independence at home, work, school and play through in-person consultations, solution path training and recommendation of Smartlife retail products. This role will be key in working alongside management and the broader CNIB technology team to develop solutions and strategies for Canadians living with sight loss to promote independence in every aspect of their lives. As a CNIB Coordinator Accessible Technology Programs, you will assist in actively supporting potential and current clients through drop-ins, appointments and organized virtual and in-person workshops held regularly through the CNIB Centres to expose clients to the possibilities with modern-day accessible technologies.
II. Job Responsibilities
Run fun and helpful workshops (online and in person) to teach people with sight loss how to use their iPhones, iPads, and Windows computers.
Help create and improve programs that teach people how to use accessible technology.
Collect feedback to see how programs are working and find ways to make them better.
Look for ways to improve how we support people and meet our goals.
Stay updated on new technology and share ideas to keep our programs fresh and useful.
Let people know about helpful tools, funding, and support available for accessible tech.
Participate in our Mobile Hub, where we travel to different communities across Alberta, especially areas without a CNIB office—to offer services and ensure all clients have access to the support they need.
SmartLife
Assist customers in navigating the SmartLife Centre and POS/e-commerce site.
Recommend technology and devices that meet customer needs, providing demos and training on technology and equipment. Be able to facilitate purchase transactions through the Point-of-Sale system or online system when required.
Develop and integrate creative programmatic strategies to engage SmartLife customers with existing and new SmartLife accessible technologies.
Through SmartLife Centres, in-person, virtual programming, building, and maintaining customer relationships by leveraging the portfolio of CNIB accessibility products, services, and programs.
You will represent SmartLife at all technology fairs and demonstration opportunities and, when appropriate, facilitate access to leading vendors of assistive technology.
General
Monitor regional Salesforce content, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and a prompt client referral and engagement process.
Maintain up-to-date participant files; complete all service tracking in a timely manner; participate in internal meetings; and prepare and provide reports regarding programs and activities.
Provide resources and work in collaboration and consultation with other CNIB Foundation and Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada subject matter experts and departments.
III. Qualifications What are you bringing to the table?
Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to plan and deliver clear communications to a diverse audience from 1 on 1 and group training.
Experience in program development and outcome evaluation.
Strong proficiency in Accessible Technologies, iOS platforms, MS Office Suites, and internet-based software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven time management, planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
Professional attitude, results-oriented, strategic, and flexible.
Experience and Education
1-2 years of experience in program development, customer service, and program delivery within a charity/not-for-profit organization.
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with accessible hardware and software technologies.
Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and vision loss.
Shopify POS and Salesforce knowledge an asset.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
Some trips and travels within Alberta will be required.
