We are seeking a Managing Consultant to join our team in Edmonton. The Managing Consultant’s primary responsibility is to retain and grow relationships for an assigned block of group benefits clients, working closely with supporting teams to unlock opportunities that enhance the client’s benefits journey.Responsibilities
Set a strategic consulting plan for client relationships. Identify cross‑sell opportunities that add value for clients. Review plan performance and client files to understand the claims experience. Prepare market specifications for clients using internal and external quoting systems. Analyze data and carrier proposals, prepare cost comparisons, facilitate finalistpresentations, and recommend the best option for the client.Perform ad‑hoc investigations of claims data to explain trends. Collaborate with analysts and underwriters for client renewals, reporting, and reviews, and create commentary for clients. Provide technical and peer review support to analysts and associates. Coordinate new‑business implementation.Prepare documents for client presentations and meet in person to deliver information. Support relationships with plan sponsors, administrators, and representatives. Leverage organizational expertise for client concerns or upsell/cross‑sell opportunities. Track ongoing work, update workflow systems regularly.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of group benefits experience in a client‑facing role. Deep understanding of group benefits, including funding arrangements. Life license (LLQP) is required. Customer‑service oriented withan entrepreneurial spirit and adaptability to rapid change.Self‑motivated and able to work independently. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and comfortable with multi‑channel technology. Valid driver’s license and consistent vehicle access. Preferred: GBA or CEBS designation. Benefits
