Medical Radiation Technologist I, Edmonton

Description Join our team to develop your skills and experience in an acute care hospital. Our orthopaedic OR rotation exposes you to many cases requiring expertise using C‑arm imaging. You will rotate through all areas we service with X‑ray, fluoroscopy, ED, and some CT. This position currently is 2 weekday shifts and every other weekend evening, equating to a 0.40 FTE with the option to pick up needed shifts. You will receive benefits with this position.

The Medical Radiation Technologist I (MRT) performs routine radiographic/fluoroscopic, computed tomography and interventional procedures. The MRT I also produces radiographs of high diagnostic quality in an efficient and safe manner while attending to the diagnostic and care needs of patients undergoing diagnostic/therapeutic procedures. The MRT I is responsible for providing services in accordance with established standards, and the mission, vision, values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of a Radiological Technology program or recognized equivalent.

Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

BLS (Level C– Health Care Provider).

Additional Required Qualifications

Energetic, positive and reliable.

Ability to use critical thinking and adapt to a busy environment with a heavy patient load.

Work alone and with a team.

Preferred Qualifications

1‑year recent experience in an acute care hospital setting.
