Job Overview As a Tommy Gun’s Barber Mentor, you set the standard for all barbers on the team. You motivate, inspire, educate, and lead barbers, ensuring the highest professionalism and customer service by positively representing the brand and supporting shop guidelines.

Position Lead Barber / Mentor– Full-time, Mayfield Common, Edmonton. Starting wage $18/hour with performance‑based pay.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers and identify preferences based on thorough consultations.

Provide expert recommendations based on face shapes and tastes.

Demonstrate high‑quality technical skills, including clipper cuts, fades, natural necklines, texturizing, and customization to client needs and hair type.

Build lasting relationships with loyal customers.

Maintain grooming stations and sterilize tools.

Maximize retail opportunities through effective chair education.

Deliver the Tommy Gun’s guest experience.

Maximize barber performance.

Educate and train barbers.

Qualifications

Journeyman‑certified Barber or Hair Stylist, or in the process of completing an apprenticeship.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Adaptability to a fast‑paced environment.

In‑depth industry knowledge and trend awareness.

Excellent communication skills.

Flexibility for shift work.

Proficiency across haircut styles, fades, on‑trend styling, and shave services.

Extensive knowledge in upselling techniques and retail offerings.

Ability to develop close working relationships with shop managers, national education team, and barbers.

Understanding of industry trends.

Confidence in one‑on‑one training.
