Household Manager with Meal Prep Support
Location:
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada T6X1V9
Employment Type:
Part-time (15-20 hours/week)
Proposed Start Date:
ASAP
Compensation:
$25-28/hour based on experience
Requirements
Able to maintain a smoke-free environment
Reliable transportation
Proposed Schedule
Monday‑Friday ~2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Flexibility for occasional extra hours based on family needs
About Our Family We are a warm and welcoming family with two energetic toddlers, ages 4 and 2, who are both in full-time daycare. Both parents work outside the home—one full‑time in an office, the other from home on Mondays and Fridays. We value our time together and need a reliable partner to keep our home organized and running smoothly.
Who We’re Looking For We appreciate open dialogue, flexibility, and initiative. The right candidate will work independently, manage household systems, and maintain a calm, organized environment.
Ideal Traits&Skills
Warm, approachable, and professional with excellent communication skills
Highly organized, able to maintain household systems and anticipate needs
Self‑starter with a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail
Calm and focused, able to handle tasks independently and ensure smooth operation
Experience with household management and systems
Comfortable with occasional communication via text, call, and email
Ability to adapt to evolving needs as children grow
Familiarity with meal prep and organizing household supplies is a plus
Key Responsibilities This role focuses on keeping the household running smoothly day to day, with a few core priorities that anchor the work.
Weekly Priorities
Reset and tidy rooms daily: load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high‑traffic areas, maintain overall neatness
Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies
Create and manage running household supply lists (especially the fridge)
Prepare a nightly meal ready ~5pm
Clean kitchen after prep and maintain kitchen tidiness
Do one load of laundry daily, rotating family clothing and towels/bedding
Once core responsibilities are handled, additional support is welcomed based on time, energy, and household needs.
Household Management&Organization
Create and maintain organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
Conduct seasonal swaps as children grow
Coordinate donation drop‑offs and pick‑ups, biannually
Support packing/unpacking for child travel
Be on site during visits from handymen, cleaners, landscapers, etc.
Inventory Management&Errands
Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping as time permits
Bring packages in from the front door/porch
Meal Planning&Preparation
Prep, wash, and cut fruits and vegetables for snack time
Batch‑bake snacks such as muffins for the kids
Pack school lunches when children enter school
Shop for groceries and meal‑related items
Laundry&Linen Care
Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (clothing, bedding)
Manage hang‑to‑dry items
Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials
Keep laundry areas tidy and well‑stocked with supplies
Vehicle Management
Vacuum car seats and car once per month
Vendor&Property Oversight
Water outdoor garden
Shovel snow off path/driveway in winter
Handle servicing and maintenance of hot tub as needed
Prepare camper for use when ready
Family Support&Child Assistance
Provide light supervision, playtime, or backup childcare as needed
Prep backpacks, clothing, or snacks for school when children start school
Deep Cleaning&Special Projects
Occasionally deep‑clean fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.
Maintain and refresh specific zones such as the kitchen and main floor
Organize special projects like toy storage, gear rotation
Administrative&Personal Assistant Support
Ad‑hoc guest room preparation and clean‑up as needed
This role requires a background check.
