Job Overview Responsible for loading and unloading freight, scanning and sorting freight within the facility, and transporting freight within and between facilities.
Responsibilities
Perform shuttle functions using a non‑articulated vehicle
Load and unload company vehicles and containers
Audit size and weight of packages
Separate packages by service type and destination in accordance with established procedures
Scan packages using computerized tracking equipment
Ensure safety procedures are followed in handling of packages
Maintain proper security of Federal Express Canada and customer property such as packages, equipment and vehicles
Clean, wash, and perform minor maintenance on vehicles as necessary
Conform to regulations established by local airport authorities
Operate vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently, complying with all government regulations and company procedures
Pick up and make emergency deliveries, not to exceed 10% of the time
Perform any other related duties as assigned
When required, perform temperature control functions, including Air Temperature Control and Carrier Temperature Control Unit troubleshooting on road, adhering to safety best practices
Comply with vehicle pre and post inspection, trip inspection and temperature control unit inspection regulations and guidelines at all times
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High school diploma or educational equivalent
Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrency training
Valid, fully unrestricted Class 5/Class G license and a good driving record
Some knowledge of FedEx Express Canada operations and Canadian customs regulations is an asset
Ability to lift 70 lbs or maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance from another person
Good interpersonal skills
Language Requirement In the province of Quebec, the incumbent must be bilingual in French and English.
Work Hours Monday to Friday: 04:45 - 11:30
