Electrician, Sackville

Position description Under the direction of the Manager of Campus Infrastructure and Utilities, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

Position Responsibilities

To carry out assigned maintenance, repair, modification and installation of electrical systems, electrical equipment, distribution systems, controls wiring, electronic access circuits and network cabling.

Operation of industrial and commercial equipment common to the trade

To perform tasks and duties from ladders, staging, lifts and other high elevations

Perform duties using products, methods and materials common to the trade

Respond promptly to after‑hours call‑ins as required

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Skills

Must possess a current and valid Province of New Brunswick Journeyman Electrical Certificate

Physical condition relevant to performing the assignments outlined under "Nature of Work" and use of CSA approved safety equipment.

An attitude that demonstrates a willingness to work effectively with campus community members, colleagues and students in a public service environment

Abilities

Ability to understand written and verbal instruction;

Ability to consistently perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently;

Ability to perform tasks related to assignments outlined under "nature of work" and to be able to recognize and deal effectively with trade related problems;

Ability to complete a schedule when assigned;

Ability to work effectively with campus community members, colleagues and students in a public service environment;

Ability to be at work consistently and to perform duties consistently for the hours assigned with or without direct supervision.
