Project Manager– River‑Class Destroyer Program
Irving Shipbuilding, one of North America’s most modern shipyards, is building more than 20 Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships and River‑Class Destroyers as part of the largest and most complex shipbuilding initiative in Canadian history. The Project Manager will play a critical role in delivering IT initiatives that support the manufacturing of River‑Class Destroyers. This is a full‑time, on‑site position requiring Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance.Responsibilities
Work alongside a diverse team supporting the technology landscape established to manufacture the River‑Class Destroyers as part of the National Shipbuilding Strategy. Lead the delivery of IT initiatives through all stages of the project lifecycle. Manage all IT project requirements and artifacts, including scope, schedule, cost, resourcing, risk, change, and quality management.Ensure adherence to quality standards and project deliverables, leveraging Microsoft Azure DevOps for full artifact traceability. Manage communications at all levels of the organization and across various industry partners engaged on the River‑Class Destroyer Program. Proactively engage in coaching of team members, fostering innovative and creative thinking.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering. 5+ years of project management and IT experience with demonstrated career progression. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent designation. Strong people and process, leadership, and management skills. Ability to problem‑solve and provide solutions with a sense of urgency.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Influential decision‑making with sound judgment and analytical support.
