YMCA Job Search Assistant Position, Hants County (Shubenacadie)

Join YMCA Nova Scotia Works as a Job Search Assistant this summer to provide career support to youth. Gain hands-on experience in job search services and community engagement.

This temporary position involves working closely with youth aged 13-16 in Halifax and Dartmouth locations. You'll assist job seekers by helping them with resumes and online applications, while collaborating with staff to enhance service delivery. The role involves operational tasks in the resource centre and effective communication with clients.

Key Responsibilities:• Work alongside NS Works staff for daily operations • Manage client sign-in and job board updates • Facilitate resumes and job application support • Review and select Head Start program participants • Ensure materials are prepared for training

Requirements:• Aged 15-30 as per Canada Summer Jobs guidelines • Required Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks • Current First Aid and CPR certification • Effective problem-solving skills necessary • Embrace diversity and community awareness in work
