Business Analyst– Port Alberni, BC

Domtar, a leading producer of pulp, paper, packaging, tissue and wood products, seeks a Business Analyst for our Port Alberni mill. This permanent, full‑time position reports to the controller and is responsible for the efficient delivery and reporting of financial information. Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities

The Business Analyst will play a key role in month‑end processes and related accounting assignments, participating in key initiatives and providing manufacturing cost, operating and financial analysis to support business decisions. Key duties include: Month‑end functions:

Production setting. Furnish balancing. Product cost allocations. Grade costing. Product statement preparation and related reporting.

Preparation and reporting of monthly latest‑view forecasts for the Port Alberni mill, coordinating submissions to Corporate Finance (Richmond&Fort Mill). Ad hoc financial analysis for mill operations and product costing. Annual budget coordination. Strategic planning– building the plan with focus on grade mix, production setting, furnish balancing, and costing. New product development support – collaborate with Mill Production and Corporate Sales teams for costing and profitability assessment.Continuous improvement initiatives– identify, record and track projects with Mill and Corporate teams. Preparation of the annual operating plan for assigned manufacturing cost elements. Support and training for new hires and less experienced finance staff. Required Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent. 3–5 years of similar experience. CPA designation is an asset. Compensation

Salary range: $79,000 to $96,000 per annum, commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity. Equal Opportunity Employer
