Job Title: Information Technology Systems Administrator
Department: LaSalle Police Service
Union: LaSalle Police Association (Civilian)
Reports To: Director of Corporate Services
Rate Of Pay: $90,963.67 per annum

Summary Under the Supervision of the Director of Corporate Services, the Information Technology Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the continuous availability, security, and integrity of mission‑critical Information Technology systems to support uninterrupted police operations including technical support to end users, research and implementation of hardware and software solutions, maintenance of software, hardware, cybersecurity, network, business applications, telephones, printers, smartphones, and related infrastructure.
Specific Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of computer and network administration including management, permissions, research, installation, upgrade, repair, and maintenance of information systems and technologies
Order, manage, track, configure, patch, and maintain information technology hardware and software including licences, desktops, laptops, smart and desk phones, switches, access points, server hardware, radio equipment, wireless modems, and other technologies
Provide network, hardware, and software support to internal and external clients/customers
Ensure the security and redundancy of the data and systems via regular audits and the application of least access principles
Manage databases and virtual machine environments, ensuring systems are current, secure, and optimised for performance
Organise/monitor/manage external support and service ensuring SLAs are met by vendors
Provide documentation, demonstrations, and training for various programmes including CAD, RMS, SharePoint and other business tools
Collaborate with the Town of LaSalle's Information Technology Department and external partners to ensure consistency, cost‑effectiveness, and efficient use of resources in support of the Police Service's business plan and priorities
Effectively document configurations, processes, workflows, issues, knowledgebases, training manuals, and decisions
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) year Computer Systems Technology– Networking diploma, or equivalent
Three (3) or more years of previous related experience
Strong working knowledge of M365 applications and administration, Intune, AD (FS)/Azure AD, Windows and SQL Server, networks, virtualised environments, VPNs, mobile computing, SharePoint, PC hardware and software management and troubleshooting
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Valid Class“G” driver’s licence
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

IT Knowledge and Experience: A recognised change champion with experience in information technology leadership, projects, implementation, support, security, and platforms

Self‑Motivated: Proactive and able to take initiative in driving tasks to completion, including meeting tight deadlines
Dependability: Reliable attendance and commitment to fulfilling responsibilities accurately and staying organised
Team Collaboration: Able to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to collective goals
Confidentiality: Able to maintain confidentiality while dealing with highly confidential records and information

Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
Working Conditions
Duties shall be performed primarily indoors, but also outdoors in all weather conditions
Safety equipment as required
Manual dexterity to use desktop/laptop computer, peripherals, connect wires, etc.
Periodic local and out of town travel required
Operation of motor vehicle
Overtime and on call as required
Hours of Work
Primary hours of work are Monday to Friday (40 hours), day shift
Overtime and on call as required
Physical Requirements
Physical work environment requiring extended periods of walking, standing, crouching, bending, kneeling, climbing, sitting, keyboarding/mousing, and driving
