What You’ll Accomplish
Ability to rake asphalt to high standards
Responsible for completing and documenting a daily pre-trip equipment inspection prior to starting the work.
Operate raking equipment to distribute and level paving materials
Ensure that proper grades and slopes are maintained throughout the project
Work in a team environment to ensure that project timelines are met
Perform routine maintenance on raking equipment to ensure proper functioning
Assist with other paving-related tasks as needed
Follow and adhere to all the Company’s safety procedures and directives
Responsible to ensure all work is completed in a safe manner
Perform work in outdoor construction site settings
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
What We’re Looking For Required Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience working with asphalt.
Required Training/Certifications: Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
Additional Requirements
Raking Asphalt experience is considered an asset
Previous experience working on asphalt and concrete paving projects
Ability to operate raking equipment and other paving-related tools and machinery
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain proper grades and slopes
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with coworkers
Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects and working in all weather conditions
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Must be able to work under pressure
Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
Must be able to work overtime, weekends, nights, and early starts (irregular hours) when necessary
Willingness to work flexible hours
Physical ability to load and unload materials from the dump truck.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
