Fit for Work - Corner Brook Location: 8 Gullage Avenue, Corner Brook, NL Status: Permanent Full-Time Schedule: Monday - Friday Additional Info: Signing Bonus of $5000&Relocation Allowance incl. Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients Apply clinical expertise and skilled competence in assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow-up of clients Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, specialized seating and positioning assessmentsIdentify appropriate equipment needs with initiation of recommendations Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications/funding letters to Ministry of Health, insurance agencies and other funding parties Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aides as well as ongoing education to clients and family to improve function, independence and safetyProvide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment Exhibit sound professional judgment Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred (newly licensed graduates accepted) Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required In some cases, Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check In some cases, Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)Clinical experience an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skillsProficiency in computer skills Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team Bilingualism - French and English are assets Benefits
