Executive General Manager, Recreation Services, Dover

Lead strategic recreation initiatives as the Executive General Manager for the Regional District of Nanaimo in Nanaimo, BC. Champion community-focused programs, facilities, and environmental stewardship in this senior leadership role.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the General Manager of Recreation&Parks Services reports to the Chief Administrative Officer. You will oversee a multidisciplinary team in planning and delivering high-quality recreation programs and maintaining extensive regional parks. This role involves financial stewardship, land acquisitions, and fostering partnerships with municipalities and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:• Lead planning and delivery of recreation programs and facilities • Align services with Board’s Strategic Plan initiatives • Manage complex capital projects and land acquisitions • Foster collaborative relationships with partners and stakeholders • Advance community well-being and environmental stewardship

Requirements:• Minimum eight years in senior-level government roles • Five years of supervisory experience highly preferred • Undergraduate degree in recreation or related fields • Experience with elected officials and councils • Equivalent education and experience may be considered
