Electrician - Plant Electrician Position Wabtec Foundry is currently seeking a licensed Industrial Electrician to join our team. The role requires a licensed electrician with industrial experience, versatile, practical, and strong troubleshooting skills.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Plant Electrician will: 1) address equipment issues to support production; 2) perform inspections and preventive maintenance on all equipment; and 3) support continuous improvement efforts in the plant.
Responsibilities
Repair and maintain all equipment and machinery to ensure efficient, safe operation with minimal downtime.
Inspect all machinery for defects and potential problems per the preventive maintenance program; repair and replace parts as required.
Modify machinery and equipment as needed to support continuous improvement.
Repair, maintain, and install electrical components, wiring, and electrical equipment of all machinery and plant facilities.
Collaborate with other skilled trades to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Plan repairs and projects with management and peers.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and carry out necessary repairs.
Ensure all electrical parts, wiring and equipment conform to electrical code requirements and are operating safely and efficiently.
Identify and report workplace hazards.
Perform preventive electrical maintenance procedures.
Conduct electrical tests and maintain maintenance and repair records.
Comply with all company rules, policies, and regulations.
Practice good housekeeping.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Assist other maintenance employees with repairs, troubleshooting, or removal/install of equipment when needed.
Qualifications&Skills
Electrical license issued in Ontario (442A or 309A considered).
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
Willingness to be flexible for shift coverage.
Experience using hand and power tools.
Ability to communicate in English (written and oral).
Ability to work independently and as a team player.
Willingness to take on challenges and show initiative.
Exhibits strong work ethic.
