THE ROLE STRIVE Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and reputable company to hire a
Heat Service Technician (G1/G2 Licensed) . In this permanent, full-time role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a variety of heating and HVAC systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically skilled professional who enjoys working independently in a fast-paced, field-based environment. While your home base will be in Bolton, the majority of your work will involve traveling to customer sites provide timely service and support.
We are looking for candidates with at least 2 years of hands‑on experience in heating, gas and HVAC systems who thrive on problem‑solving and delivering high‑quality service.

RESPONSIBILITES
Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair gas equipment, regulators, and heating units.
Troubleshoot equipment problems both on customers’ jobsites, in the shop or over the phone.
Test, replace, and certify defective equipment as needed.
Perform annual inspections, service, and repairs on construction heaters.
Advise clients on safe operation and maintenance of gas units.
Accurately document all service, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Conduct daily hazard assessments on‑site and/or in the shop.
Perform daily circle checks on forklifts and service trucks.
Assist with loading, unloading, delivery, and pick‑up of equipment.
Deliver exceptional customer service in all interactions.
Communicate with customers over the phone to trouble‑shoot equipment problems as needed.
In the winter months(heat season), time is spent mainly in the field, and in the summer months, time is spent in the shop mainly.
REQUIREMENTS
3 years of experience (ideally with temporary construction heaters)
Licensed Gas Fitter with
G1 or G2
ticket
CH-SM2 or CH-SM1
(Construction Heater Operator) certification is an asset
Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory abstract
Knowledge of temporary heating systems using natural gas, propane, and diesel
Familiarity with temporary heaters: direct/indirect fired, hydronic, electric (training provided if needed)
AC knowledge/certification is an asset
Understanding of LP/NG safety regulations, equipment servicing, permitting, and installation
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills for field and shop work
Ability to read and interpret building/mechanical plans (asset)
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities
Must have a complete set of tools or be actively building one
Willingness to work overtime and participate in on‑call rotation as required
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑focused mindset
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team
Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
