Description
As one of Canada’s largest private industrial developers, Beedie is excited to be growing our team! We are currently looking for Project Coordinators to join our team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager with all aspects of construction projects including budget, schedules, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, forecasting, purchases and warranty.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with preparation of permit packages by coordinating drawings and information required for the application and approval process and assist in obtaining all other municipal permits
Assist in the preparation and issuance of the project tender packages, including scopes of work customized for the specific project
Prepare bid analysis spreadsheets and recommendations for PM approval
Prepare the subcontracts and purchase orders for execution
Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs for drawings, vendor/subcontractor lists, RFIs, change orders and track responses and advise Project Management team on status
Assist in the development of the project schedule
Provide monthly project status reports that include cost forecasting, cash flows, schedule updates, safety and quality updates and issues
Maintain daily communication with Site Superintendents and record daily construction activity
Provide meeting minutes for applicable meetings as directed to attend
Expedite all shop drawings and approvals
Set up and maintain record files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
Process and track all project change orders
Assist in the processing of progress billings from subcontractors and suppliers
Monitor the site progress and review the quality of the work completed and note any deviations from the project timelines or specifications to the PM
Identify and note any site safety issues to the site superintendent and site safety officer
Coordinate and collect all close‑out documents including as‑build record drawings, warranties, operating and maintenance manuals
Assist in obtaining the required occupancy permits for the project
Assist in the recovery of all project Letter of Credits
Coordinate the project closeout meeting and provide a final report on the lessons learned
Archive project binders, drawings and relevant documents for closed jobs
Other duties as required
Desired Skills and Experience
A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience in industrial or commercial is preferred
The ability to travel throughout the lower mainland with access to your own vehicle
A technical Diploma or relevant University Degree
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Passion for construction and project management
Recognized analytical and research skills
The ability to handle a heavy workload, multitask and prioritize
A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills
$60,000 - $75,000 a year
The annual base pay range for this position will be based on the desired experience level for this role. Additionally, Beedie recognizes exceptional individual and team performance through our pay‑for‑performance bonus program. Factors that contribute to pay decisions include: relevant business and candidate factors such as market location, education, job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and organizational needs.
